About the Meeting

The International Conference on Petroleum Phase Behavior and Fouling (PetroPhase) was started in 1999 and is the premiere international meeting where industrial and academic researchers meet to discuss the latest findings in:

  • Petroleum properties and chemistry
  • Upstream, midstream and downstream fouling
  • Processing and refining petroleum
  • Asphaltene and wax deposition
  • Emulsions
  • Multiphase flow
  • Application of the latest scientific techniques to petroleum systems
  • And all other aspects related to flow assurance!

Annually, PetroPhase is attended by over 200 researchers internationally from major research universities, oil producers and refiners, and petroleum service companies. The diverse background of attendees stimulates passionate discussion and collaborative opportunities.

The University of Utah is proud to host the 2018 PetroPhase meeting in beautiful Park City, Utah at the Deer Valley Resort. Park City is perhaps best known for its world class skiing, beautiful mountain destination and the annual Sundance Film Festival. Despite the missing snow in July, Park City has plenty to offer with dining and art galleries, mountain biking and hiking opportunities, and fresh mountain air! We look forward to seeing you at PetroPhase 2018 this summer!
